Glass

1. If I buy Wynne windows, will replacement glass be available only through
     Wynne?
   No. Wynne uses industry standard glass. Replacement glass may be
     fabricated at hundreds of local glass shops nationwide.

2. Must I use the same glass for every window in my order?
   No. You may choose the glass type and tint for each individual window.

3. Are all Wynne windows glazed with safety glazing?
     Yes. Each customer may choose laminated safety, tempered safety,
     polycarbonate or acrylic.

4. Does Wynne recommend one type of safety glass be used in all Wynne
     windows?
     No. The customer should choose the type and thickness of safety glass
     based on USCG regulations, ABS regulations and a careful study of the
     working environment for each window.

5. What is the basic difference between laminated safety and tempered
     safety?

  • Laminated Safety Glass-Two lts. of plate glass with a vinyl inner    layer.(Modern American Car Windshield)
  • Tempered Safety Glass-One lt. of plate glass that has been heat        treated to add strength and safety qualities.  (Modern American Car Side Windows)

6. What are the advantages and disadvantages of laminated safety glass?
     Advantages:

  • Generally remains in place when broken.
  • Less expense.
  • Fast replacement when broken.

     Disadvantages:

  • Relatively easy to break.
  • Graylite 14 not available.

7. What are the advantages and disadvantages of tempered safety glass?
     Advantages:

  • Much greater impact resistance than laminated.
  • Availability of graylite 14. (limo tint)

     Disadvantages:

  • More expensive than laminated.
  • Shatters into small pieces when broken.
  • Longer lead time to replace when broken.

Clamp Rings

8.   Are clamp rings adjustable?
     No. Each clamp ring extrusion is made to fit a specific bulkhead
     thickness.

9.   What is the thinnest bulkhead size that can be accommodated with a clamp
       ring?
       1/8” bulkhead.

10. What is the thickest bulkhead size that can be accommodated with a clamp
       ring?
       2 ฝ” bulkhead.

11.  If the bulkhead thickness is not uniform around a rough opening, can a
       clamp ring still be used?
       Yes, provided the largest and smallest size is within 3/16”of each other.

12.  Must every window in a set or order have the same clamp ring size?
     No. Clamp ring sizes can vary as bulkhead thicknesses vary.

13.  Must Wynne windows always be mounted using a clamp ring?
     No. The clamp ring may be deleted. The window can then be attached 
       to the bulkhead with fasteners through the exterior window flange.

Frames

14. Does Wynne manufacture windows with mitered corners?
     Yes.

15. Which are better, mitered corners or radius corners?
     Radius corners are stronger, less likely to leak, and less expensive.

16. Can Wynne make windows with curved sides?
     No. Straight sides only. 3” radius or mitered corners.

17. What is the smallest window that Wynne can build?
     6 ผ” x 12”.

18. What is the largest window that Wynne can build?
     To date, the largest window is 60” x 168”.

19. Can I have window frames painted colors other than black?
     Yes. Wynne can powdercoat over aluminum frames.

     Standard powdercoat colors available include: white, off white, almond,
     black. There is an upcharge for all powercoated orders. For colors other
     than the 4 standard above, there will be an upcharge plus powder
     stocking fee. Call for details.

20. Does Wynne take credit cards as payment?
     Yes, Visa and MasterCard only.
